Netflix is set to release its upcoming mystery-thriller series *Mousetrap*—adapted from the webtoon *Field Mouse*—on August 28. Alongside the premiere date, the streaming platform has released the official poster and a teaser trailer featuring English subtitles.
The plot centers on Moon-jae, a reclusive author whose quiet existence is completely upended by an enigmatic individual called “Field Mouse.” To win back everything that was taken from him, Moon-jae forms an uneasy alliance with No-ja, an unforgiving loan shark who was previously his pursuer.
The show is helmed by director Hong-sun Kim. The main cast features Jun-yeol Ryu as Moon-jae, Kyung-gu Sul as the loan shark Noja, and Kyoo-hyung Lee in the role of detective Sun-yong.
The source material, the webtoon *Field Mouse*, was originally published between 2017 and 2020 by creator Ludovico. The narrative draws inspiration from the traditional Korean folklore “The Rat That Ate Fingernails,” which revolves around a rodent that takes on human form after ingesting a person’s discarded nails.
At present, an official English translation of the webtoon remains unavailable.
