Good news for fans of the superhero parody anime One-Punch Man: Netflix is finally expanding its catalog so viewers can stream more than just a single season at a time.
According to reports from What’s on Netflix, the platform is preparing to drop a much larger portion of the series into its streaming library.
Previously, U.S. subscribers only had access to a single season of the show before it was pulled from the platform in November 2023. That limitation ends on August 25, when both the first and second seasons officially return to the service, potentially alongside the first cour of Season 3.
One-Punch Man Joins Netflix’s Expanding Anime Lineup on August 25
The return of Season 1 alongside the addition of Season 2 marks a major win for the fanbase and aligns with Netflix’s aggressive push to solidify its status as a premier global destination for anime. Earlier this year, metrics confirmed that Netflix had claimed the top spot as the leading anime streaming platform in the United States, Brazil, and several other major territories.
Throughout the year, the platform has consistently bolstered its animation catalog alongside its growing slate of live-action adaptations. Recent months have brought heavy hitters to subscribers, including Detective Conan Season 3, Assassination Classroom Season 1, Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2, Shangri-La Frontier, and new installments of One Piece.
Fans Look Ahead to Redemption for Saitama in Season 3, Part 2
Based on ONE’s original webcomic and manga, the One-Punch Man anime burst onto the scene in 2015, instantly becoming a massive hit. While Madhouse handled the critically acclaimed first season, J.C.Staff took over production duties for Season 2 and the long-awaited Season 3, which finally premiered last year following a six-year hiatus.
Viewers are now eagerly awaiting the second half of Season 3, hoping for a significant rebound in quality. While the first two seasons were massive critical and audience favorites—earning impressive Rotten Tomatoes “Popcornmeter” scores of 96% and 82%, respectively—Season 3 faced severe backlash.
Plagued by complaints regarding questionable narrative pacing and frequently inconsistent animation, the third season currently sits at a dismal 7% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.
U.S. fans can look forward to streaming One-Punch Man on Netflix starting August 25.
