The production team behind the television anime adaptation of author Ezogingitune and illustrator DeeCHA’s light novel series, I Became a Legend After My 10 Year-Long Last Stand (known in Japanese as Koko wa Ore ni Makasete Saki ni Ike to Ittekara 10-nen ga Tattara Densetsu ni Natteita.), announced on Tuesday that Rina Honnizumi has joined the voice cast. She plays Philly, the fifth daughter of the Mastafon noble family, who made her first appearance in the show’s seventh episode on Monday.

Square Enix and Comikey publish the official English manga adaptation, and they summarize the plot as follows:
With no other options, Luck makes the choice to hold the line against the unending demonic hordes alone, to make sure his comrades can escape with their lives. However, through a combination of fortune, skill, and ingenuity, he holds that line for ten straight years, eventually coming out on top single handedly. Now he has to tackle the dilemma of how to occupy himself in a world where he holds a myriad of roles: that of a legend, that of a veteran, and that of a brand new face.
The main voice cast includes:
Nobuhiko Okamoto, Kōsuke Toriumi, Takehito Koyasu, Shinya Takahashi, and Satoshi Hino voice the pivotal vampire characters who drive key elements of the overarching plot.
On the production side, Hiroyuki Kanbe (Viper’s Creed) directs the series at Studio Gekkō. Mitsutaka Hirota (Edens Zero) oversees the scripts, and Majiro (Macross Delta) handles character designs. For the theme music, sajou no hana performs the opening theme, “Soredemo Donten o Koeteyuku” (Even So, We Go Past the Cloudy Skies), while the rock-idol unit MEISHOHIKOKAI sings the ending theme, “Ari Kitari na Nichijō to Kōun na Hibi e” (Lucky in the Ordinary, or Onwards to Ordinary and Fortunate Days).

The series initially debuted early on Amazon Prime Video on July 3 before rolling out to ABEMA and d Anime Store on July 6. Its proper television broadcast began on July 6 across Tokyo MX, KBS Kyoto, Sun TV, TV Aichi, and BS11, followed by AT-X on July 9. Although originally scheduled to premiere in April, the broadcast was pushed back to July to ensure a higher-quality final product for viewers.
Crunchyroll is currently streaming the anime internationally as it airs in Japan.
The source web novel series originally launched on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website in June 2018. SB Creative published the first print light novel volume in February 2019, with the eighth volume scheduled for release on July 15. Additionally, Chaco Abeno launched a manga adaptation featuring composition by Kitsune Tennōji on Square Enix’s Manga UP! platform in August 2019, releasing its 19th compiled volume on April 7. Combined, the novels and manga have amassed over 4.45 million copies in circulation.
