A stunning new timepiece merges two of Japan’s most beloved cultural exports: iconic anime and masterful watchmaking.
For enthusiasts who adore Japanese bullet trains alongside the legendary manga and anime One Piece and fine horology, a phenomenal collector’s piece has just arrived: a Seiko chronograph inspired by the One Piece Shinkansen.
This exclusive watch draws its aesthetic directly from Setouchi Blue, one of a trio of specially themed high-speed trains introduced last year to commemorate the 50th milestone of the Sanyo Shinkansen line, which connects Shin-Osaka and Hakata in Fukuoka.
While companion trains highlight characters like Tony Tony Chopper and Monkey D. Luffy, the Setouchi Blue honors the picturesque landscapes of the Seto Inland Sea region. Adorned with graphics of the Straw Hat Pirates, riding this train evokes a sense of nautical exploration—and now, fans can take that adventurous spirit everywhere they go with this limited-edition Seiko timepiece.

The upper dual sub-dials showcase the distinctive wave graphic found along the train’s body, while the subsidiary seconds dial proudly displays the iconic Jolly Roger emblem of the Straw Hat crew, captained by Monkey D. Luffy. Subtle nods include a miniature straw hat detail positioned at the 1 o’clock marker, alongside a gleaming gold index at the 10 o’clock (or 50-minute) position to honor half a century of Sanyo Shinkansen service.
Further charm is added by the chronograph’s second hand, fashioned after Luffy and a ship’s anchor, while the primary hour and minute hands feature LumiBrite phosphorescent coating. Additionally, four glowing LumiBrite elements situated right beneath the Seiko branding mimic the powerful headlights of the Shinkansen for a striking nighttime effect.
Turning the watch over reveals an engraving of the official One Piece Shinkansen logo alongside a unique serial number, as production is strictly limited to 5,000 units worldwide.
The watch arrives packaged in a custom presentation case styled to resemble a pirate’s treasure chest, complete with a foil-embossed One Piece Shinkansen logo on the lid.
Inside the box, collectors will discover exclusive artwork from the One Piece × Sanyo Shinkansen initiative alongside a matching illustrated warranty card.
Crafted in Japan with a stainless steel case, case back, and bracelet, and protected by a curved Hardlex crystal, this quartz-powered watch offers an impressive accuracy of within 15 seconds per month and 10-bar water resistance. The case dimensions measure approximately 4.7 x 3.98 centimeters (1.85 x 1.57 inches) with a thickness of 1.28 centimeters.
Available starting August 17 via the Premico online store for 76,780 yen (approximately $512 USD), fulfillment and shipping for these timepieces are scheduled to begin in mid-January 2027.
