During their panel at Anime NYC, publisher TOKYOPOP revealed plans to bring two new manhwa titles—Lily of the Valley and Magic Soup—to English-speaking readers in 2027. These two series are part of a broader nine-title licensing wave that also includes seven manga.
Here is what readers can expect from the two newly licensed manhwa:
- Lily of the Valley (by Rangrari): Sold out by her own family and sent to the estate of the notorious Duke Blake, Lily expects the worst. However, the duke has entirely different plans and aims to capture her heart instead. While she tries to navigate her new environment, Lily’s heart already belongs to a handmaid named Anna, leaving her to wonder if anyone will ever truly love her in return. Readers can currently check out the English version on Tapas.
- Magic Soup (by Kimpeacock and Tropicalarmpit): To honor his late mother’s dying wish, Romiard journeys to the forbidding Ice Castle of Larmanilla, home to a famously ruthless and stunning magician. Guided along the way by a white bear, Romiard arrives only to be immediately ordered to brew a magical soup. When the dish turns out to be exceptionally delicious, the cold-hearted magician abruptly changes tune—asking him to become the castle’s chef. This sparks an unlikely winter romance between a warm-hearted cook and a cruel master of magic. English chapters are currently available on Tappytoon.
TOKYOPOP stated that further information regarding these releases, such as precise launch dates, will be shared at a later time.
