During the One Piece Day ’26 livestream event, two brand-new anime films were officially announced. Fans can look forward to ONE PIECE FILM GOD VALLEY, scheduled to hit theaters in the summer of 2027, followed by ONE PIECE FILM BAAD in 2029.
The upcoming God Valley Incident film will adapt the manga’s historic clash from 38 years ago on the island of God Valley, a massive confrontation that brought together the Rocks Pirates, Roger Pirates, Marines, and World Nobles.

Meanwhile, the television anime’s Elbaph arc premiered in Japan on April 5, with Crunchyroll handling international streaming.
Toei Animation and producer Ryūta Koike previously announced a major shift in the TV anime’s production schedule. Starting in 2026, the series capped its annual output at 26 episodes. After the Egghead arc wrapped up, the show took a three-month break from January to March 2026 before returning in April for the Elbaph arc.
According to Toei Animation, this adjusted production window allows the anime to better match the pacing, tempo, and content density of Eiichiro Oda’s original manga while utilizing unique animation techniques. For decades, the series aired nearly every week following its 1999 premiere, making this a significant structural change for the long-running franchise.
The television adaptation previously took strategic pauses to maintain quality, including a break during the Egghead arc that led to its return in April 2025 with an updated late-night timeslot on Fuji TV. During previous production gaps, alternative projects—such as the streamlined 21-episode One Piece Log: Fish-Man Island Saga—have aired to keep fans engaged.
