During the "One Piece Day ’26" livestream event, exciting announcements were made regarding the third season of Netflix’s live-action One Piece adaptation, officially titled One Piece: The Battle of Alabasta. Based on Eiichiro Oda’s legendary manga, the upcoming season—slated for a 2027 premiere—unveiled four key additions to its cast:
- Emilio Sakraya as Koza
- Omid Abtahi as Toto
- Nabeel Khan as Chaka
- Jamie Ward as Pell
These newly revealed actors join a growing ensemble for Season 3, which previously announced Cole Escola as Bon Clay, Xolo Maridueña as Portgas D. Ace, Awdo Awdo as Mr. 1, and Daisy Head (Shadow and Bone, Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves) as Miss Doublefinger. Behind the scenes, Ian Stokes and Joe Tracz are heading up the production as co-showrunners, writers, and executive producers.
This news follows the rollout of the live-action series’ second season, One Piece: Into the Grand Line, which premiered on Netflix on March 10 following special theatrical screenings in North America and Japan. Spanning storylines up through the Drum Island arc—including Loguetown, Reverse Mountain, Whiskey Peak, and Little Garden—Season 2 production began in July 2024 under the guidance of Joe Tracz and Matt Owens. (Owens later stepped down following the completion of season 2 to prioritize his mental health).
Since its explosive debut in August 2023, the live-action adaptation—produced by Tomorrow Studios (a partnership between Marty Adelstein and ITV Studios) alongside executive producer Becky Clements—has continued to build momentum, even picking up two wins at the 3rd Annual Children’s & Family Emmy Awards for outstanding original song and stunt coordination.
