Point Set has officially announced that a second season of the television anime adaptation of Ichika Isshiki and fame’s light novel series, Berserk of Gluttony, is scheduled to premiere in 2027. To celebrate the announcement, Point Set released a special video message featuring Ryōta Ōsaka, the voice actor behind the protagonist, Fate Graphite. (Viewers are advised to turn on closed captions for English subtitles.)
The anime’s initial season first aired in October 2023. Crunchyroll handled the simultaneous streaming of the series during its broadcast and later released an English-dubbed version.
Staff & Production:
The first season was directed by Tetsuya Yanagisawa (known for High School DxD and Orient) at the animation studio ACGT. Mariko Kunisawa (Ascendance of a Bookworm, Orient) managed the series scripts, while Takafumi Furusawa handled character designs.
English editions of both the original light novels and the manga adaptation are published by Seven Seas Entertainment, which outlines the dark fantasy plot as follows:
Fate Graphite is one of the forsaken. Cursed with the skill “Gluttony,” he is ever starving, never sated…until the day he kills a dying thief and devours the man’s strength—and his soul. Originally serialized on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website, author Ichika Isshiki debuted the first light novel volume featuring illustrations by fame in November 2017, with Micro Magazine subsequently publishing the series in a larger bunko format. Additionally, a manga adaptation illustrated by Daisuke Takino began publication on Micro Magazine’s Comic Ride web platform in April 2018.
