Kadokawa is continuing its character showcase for the highly anticipated anime adaptation of FromSoftware’s hit game, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice.
The KADOKAWAanime YouTube channel has dropped the ninth character trailer for Sekiro: No Defeat, this time shifting the spotlight to the Young Water Child, a tragic resident residing within the inner sanctuary of Senpo Temple.
In the game’s lore, the young girl is the sole survivor of the monks’ unethical experiments to artificially replicate the Dragon’s Heritage using the Waters of Youth. In the original story, she plays a vital role by guarding the Mortal Blade, aiding the Wolf, and serving as the key to unlocking the “Return” ending.
Reprising her role from the video game, voice actor Risa Shimizu returns to bring the character to life.
Sekiro: No Defeat aims to faithfully adapt the game’s gripping narrative into a striking 2D animated format. The project is being brought to life by studio Qzil.la, featuring direction by Ken’ichi Kutsuna, a script penned by Takuya Sato, and action choreography directed by Takashi Mukoda.
The anime is scheduled to premiere in Japanese theaters on September 4, 2026, for a three-week theatrical run. International fans will eventually be able to stream the series on Crunchyroll, though an official digital release date has not yet been confirmed.
