Dandadan Season 3 is on the horizon, and it’s gearing up to tackle what many consider the manga’s finest storyline yet. Created by Yukinobu Tatsu, the series originally launched on Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ app back in April 2021. When Science SARU brought the manga to the screen three years later, it quickly evolved into one of the defining anime hits of the decade. Famed for its breathtaking art style and wildly vibrant animation, the adaptation captured audiences instantly and has only grown in momentum since. Following the conclusion of its second season in September 2025, producers announced that the next chapter of the anime will premiere in 2027. While an exact launch date remains under wraps, the franchise continues to generate plenty of buzz through various fresh initiatives.
The official anime X account recently dropped a striking new promotional illustration featuring Momo, Okarun, Aira, and Jiji to build hype for the upcoming KaiDan Festival. Set for August 29, 2026, at Nakaiizumo Park in Toshima City, the celebration marks the franchise’s second annual KaiDan event, promising to be even bigger than its predecessor by offering exclusive artwork, stamp rallies, one-shot contests, and other fun surprises for attendees.
Dandadan Season 3 Will Adapt The Manga’s Best Arc

Because the third season is expected to wrap up right before the climax of the Kaiju Arc, viewers are currently left with several burning questions. The introduction of the enigmatic pilot operating the massive Kaiju ties directly into the most severe threat Momo and her companions have ever faced. Serving as a lead-in to the expansive Space Globalists Arc—which has already been teased on screen—the storyline features a major twist involving the Kito family matriarch, who turns out to be a ruthless extraterrestrial with a centuries-old conspiracy in motion.
The upcoming episodes will dive into the motivations behind this alien plot and explore how the mysterious young girl fits into the grand scheme. Spanning roughly 47 chapters, the Space Globalists segment holds the title of the manga’s longest arc, raising questions about how the production team plans to fit it all into Season 3. Typically, a standard 12-episode run covers about 30 to 35 chapters, meaning the upcoming season will either need to expand its episode count or accelerate its narrative pacing.
Dandadan Is Celebrating Its 5th Anniversary With Its First-Ever Stage Play

Marking half a decade since the manga first hit shelves, the announcement of a live stage play has given followers yet another reason to rejoice. Alongside the reveal, producers launched an official website to keep supporters up to date. The theatrical production is scheduled to run in Tokyo from August 26 through September 3, 2026, before heading to Osaka for a brief run from September 11 to 13, 2026. At present, no plans have been announced regarding international performances.
