Dragon Ball Z enthusiasts can finally recreate one of anime’s most legendary clashes, thanks to a new release from Premium Bandai and S.H.Figuarts.
S.H.Figuarts has officially launched pre-orders for the Full Power Frieza -Battle Scarred Edition- figure, shaping up to be a standout collectible for the year. Capturing his brutal showdown against Goku that culminated in the destruction of Planet Namek, this new figure portrays the iconic tyrant in all his menacing glory.
S.H. Figuarts Recreates Full Power Frieza’s Battle-Scarred Dragon Ball Z Look
Standing roughly 12.5 centimeters tall, the Full Power Frieza -Battle Scarred Edition- figure highlights the villain’s heavily muscled, hulking physique—a formidable form rarely seen throughout his various franchise appearances. Beyond the base figure, the set comes packed with accessories: three interchangeable head sculpts, three pairs of hands, replacement ankles, and a detachable tail.
With its high level of articulation and diverse parts, the figure is ideal for dynamic action poses. However, what truly makes it essential for serious collectors is an extra inclusion: a special interchangeable head designed for the recently released S.H.Figuarts Super Saiyan Son Goku -The Legendary Super Saiyan- figure, allowing the two collectibles to pair together seamlessly.
Frieza first entered the franchise in 1989 within chapter 247 of Akira Toriyama’s original Dragon Ball manga, titled “Planet Namek, Cold and Dark,” which later debuted in the anime as the 1990 episode “Brood of Evil.” As the primary villain of the Frieza Saga, he cemented his legacy as a ruthless conqueror willing to sacrifice anyone—even his own loyal subordinates—to achieve god-like status.
Throughout his history in the Dragon Ball universe, Frieza has undergone numerous transformations, shifting from diminutive forms to terrifyingly powerful states. The climax of the Frieza Saga pushed the series’ heroes to their absolute limits, resulting in Frieza accidentally slicing himself in half with his own Destructo Disc during his battle with Goku. Though seemingly obliterated shortly after—not before taking a final swipe at Vegeta—the tyrant’s story didn’t end there.
Frieza has made several dramatic returns to torment the Z Fighters over the years. His most prominent comeback arrived with the Golden Frieza Saga, featured in both versions of the Dragon Ball Super anime and the 2015 animated film Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection ‘F’.
