Jujutsu Kaisen Will Officially Return In 2026 With A “New Genre”

Given the immense popularity of the anime medium, game developers are constantly looking for ways to adapt beloved series into interactive experiences. While past anime-inspired video games have frequently missed the mark, enthusiasts of Jujutsu Kaisen have a unique project to anticipate, with developers aiming to pioneer an entirely fresh sub-genre.

Since its television debut in 2020, Jujutsu Kaisen has risen to become a titan in the contemporary anime landscape, a feat that comes as little surprise given that it adapts one of the highest-selling manga franchises in history. The narrative centers on Yuji Itadori, an ordinary high schooler who gets pulled into a clandestine organization of Jujutsu Sorcerers dedicated to eradicating a catastrophic curse named Ryomen Sukuna. Complicating matters, Yuji accidentally becomes Sukuna’s vessel, setting the stage for high-stakes supernatural conflict.

Expanding the franchise further, an upcoming interactive title is currently being forged by studio poncle in partnership with Shueisha Games. Eschewing the conventional formula of typical anime character action games, promotional materials tease a completely novel approach. The official announcement highlights a collaboration between Vampire Survivors creator Luca Galante and Shueisha Games to deliver a distinct poncle production rooted within the dark fantasy universe of Jujutsu Kaisen.

Slated for release later this year, JUJUTSU KAISEN RUMBLE: SURVIVATON is pitched as a “survivors royale” experience. Players will face relentless hordes of malignant spirits and rival magic users, growing steadily stronger throughout each session. The core objective is to outmaneuver competitors, climb the leaderboards, exorcise threats, and ultimately rewrite the rules of survival.

As players assemble their builds, unlock game-altering modifiers, and battle to be the last one standing, they can choose to jump into the fray solo or team up with up to eight players in co-op mode.

Slash through endless waves of curses, accumulate points, and match the escalating pace of your opponents as matches grow increasingly chaotic.

Offensive actions trigger automatically, shifting the primary emphasis toward precise movement, spatial positioning, and timing your interventions to alter match conditions.

Reaching a milestone of 100 points allows you to trigger a “Rule Addition,” throwing your rivals off balance, seizing momentum, and pushing your rank higher.

When the dust settles, the final two remaining contenders clash in an intense 1v1 showdown to decide the ultimate victor.

Featuring an impressive roster of over 20 fan-favorite heroes and villains from the franchise, JUJUTSU KAISEN RUMBLE: SURVIVATON aims to deliver an authentic experience for followers of both the animation and manga. Crucially, combatants will wield their signature, lore-accurate techniques, including Black Flash, Domain Expansions, and other iconic abilities.

For fans feeling the void during the current series hiatus and looking for a fresh release to anticipate, JUJUTSU KAISEN RUMBLE: SURVIVATON is currently available to add to digital wishlists.
