Classic 2000 Visual Novel Headed to Steam

Game developer Nitroplus, through its Nitro Origin imprint, revealed on August 7 that its iconic 2000 visual novel Phantom of Inferno is making its way to Steam as Phantom: Phantom Inferno on September 4. This upcoming release matches the content of the 2013 PC version and will include Japanese voice acting alongside text support in English, Simplified Chinese, and Japanese.

When a wave of high-profile mob assassinations shakes the criminal underworld, whispers spread about a clandestine syndicate called Inferno and its ultimate killer, Phantom.
During a solitary trip to America, an ordinary teenager accidentally crosses paths with this legendary assassin—only to realize she is a girl his own age.
Robbed of his past, the youth is captured and molded into a ruthless killer by Phantom herself. As he hones his lethal skills to fight alongside her, he becomes entangled in a web of dark conspiracies.
Trapped in a merciless and lawless society, what fate awaits these two youthful executioners…?
Originally developed by Nitroplus for PC in 2000, the title later received DVD and PlayStation 2 ports in 2001 and 2003, respectively. The franchise also inspired the television anime adaptation Phantom ~Requiem for the Phantom~ in 2009.
Later on, Digiturb brought an Xbox 360 version to market in 2012, featuring upgraded visuals inspired by the anime series and starring the original anime voice cast. A subsequent PC version was released in 2013.
