The Promised Neverland Manga’s New 1-Shot Debuts on August 24 – News

Fans of The Promised Neverland have a brand-new epilogue to look forward to. Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine has announced in its combined 37th and 38th issue that creators Kaiu Shirai and Posuka Demizu are returning with a 36-page bonus one-shot chapter.

Titled "War vs. Peace," the special story is set chronologically after the events of the main manga series and is scheduled to be published in the magazine’s next issue on August 24.

This special release is part of a broader wave of celebrations for the franchise’s 10th anniversary. To mark the milestone, Shueisha has lined up several special projects, including a brand-new stage musical adaptation set to debut in Tokyo this winter. Other anniversary highlights feature a full-color digital release of the manga, traveling pop-up stores across various Japanese cities, and an exclusive online lottery event.

A Look Back at the Franchise
Written by Kaiu Shirai and illustrated by Posuka Demizu, The Promised Neverland originally debuted in Weekly Shonen Jump in August 2016 and concluded its run in June 2020, spanning 20 collected volumes published by Shueisha.

For English-speaking readers, Viz Media handles both digital and print releases in North America, while MANGA Plus provides digital simulpubs.

The dark fantasy series has also seen major adaptations across multiple mediums:

  • Anime: The first season premiered in January 2019 and was widely streamed across platforms like Crunchyroll, Hulu, Funimation, and HIDIVE. A second season followed in January 2021.
  • Live-Action Film: A live-action movie adaptation premiered in theaters in December 2020.

With "War vs. Peace" arriving this August, readers will soon get another glimpse into the world of The Promised Neverland following the conclusion of the main story.
