Manga artist Eru Kudō has announced that the second part of the There’s No Freaking Way I’ll be Your Lover! Unless… adaptation is scheduled to launch in early 2027. This news arrives shortly after the final chapter of the manga’s initial run was published on July 31.
Under the updated title Watashi ga Koibito ni Nareru Wake Naijan, Muri Muri! Muri Janakatta!? ~Second Season, Kudō will helm the upcoming continuation, which is slated for a January or February 2027 debut. Earlier in the year, REMOW began streaming There’s No Freaking Way I’ll Be Your Lover! Unless… ~Next Shine~ on YouTube, a special continuation covering episodes 13 through 17 of the Watanare franchise, compiled into a single video release.
This continuation, There’s No Freaking Way I’ll Be Your Lover! Unless… ~Next Shine~, originally debuted in Japanese cinemas on November 21, 2025. It later received its U.S. premiere at Anime Frontier 2025, held from December 12 to 14 at the Fort Worth Convention Center in Texas. The voice cast unit Quintet provides the theme song for this project, titled “Dear My Special Precious Marvelous Sweet Darlings.”
The main television anime series, which premiered on July 7, spanned 12 episodes and remains available for streaming across platforms like YouTube and Plex. Its soundtrack featured Akari Nanawo performing the opening theme, “Muri Muri Evolution (The Impossible Theory of Evolution),” alongside Philosophy no Dance with the ending theme, “Mayocchauwa (I’m Confused).”
