A vintage-style telephone from the Guchokipanya bakery brings one of the movie’s most beloved melodies to life.
Few characters capture our hearts quite like the unforgettable animals in Studio Ghibli films, and in Kiki’s Delivery Service, the witty black cat Jiji easily steals the spotlight.
Fans can now bring a piece of that magic home thanks to a charming new collectible from official Ghibli merchandise hub Donguri Kyowakoku. Entitled the “Kiki’s Delivery Service Music Box: A Message to Kiki,” this delightful piece is meticulously crafted to resemble the classic black rotary phone found inside Guchokipanya, the cozy bakery where Kiki embarks on her independent journey.
The attention to detail is remarkable. The telephone receiver rests slightly off the hook against the body of the phone, while an eager Jiji leans in closely, ears perked toward the earpiece as though waiting to hear who might be calling. It’s easy to imagine a friendly local customer—or perhaps Kiki herself—on the other end of the line.

Instead of a spoken conversation, however, winding the mechanism plays “Rouge no Dengon” (“Message of Rouge“), the instantly recognizable and uplifting opening theme from the film.
Both the tune and the craftsmanship successfully capture the cozy, nostalgic atmosphere of the bakery setting, complete with subtle lace accents decorating the wood-textured base.

Standing roughly 10.5 × 13 × 10.5 centimeters (4.1 × 5.1 × 4.1 inches) and weighing about 532 grams (1.17 pounds), this music box looks like a prop lifted directly out of the animated feature. Serving as both a working music box and a wonderful display ornament, it’s sure to bring joy to any fan’s room. You can pick it up at physical Donguri Kyowakoku locations across Japan or online starting at 10 a.m. on August 8.
