Fans of the Boruto manga will have to wait a bit longer for the next chapter, as the series is taking a one-month hiatus. According to an announcement on the official X (formerly Twitter) account for the franchise, Boruto: Two Blue Vortex will skip the upcoming issue of Shueisha’s V Jump magazine, which hits shelves in Japan on August 21. Serialization is set to resume in the following edition on September 18.
As of now, no official reason has been provided for the temporary break.

Boruto: Two Blue Vortex acts as the second major arc of the Boruto narrative, picking up directly where Boruto: Naruto Next Generations left off. Taking place three years after the dramatic climax of the first part, the story follows Boruto Uzumaki in the wake of Eida’s reality-altering powers. The ability turned the entire world against him, convincing everyone that he assassinated Naruto while switching his identity with Kawaki’s. Now operating as a fugitive, Boruto has returned to the Hidden Leaf Village significantly stronger just as a perilous new threat—the Divine Trees—begins to surface.
The original Boruto: Naruto Next Generations series debuted in 2016, originally written by Ukyo Kodachi alongside franchise creator Masashi Kishimoto, with illustrations by Mikio Ikemoto. Kodachi stepped down in 2020, prompting Kishimoto to resume writing duties. Part one wrapped up in 2023 across 20 tankōbon volumes before pivoting into the Two Blue Vortex continuation.
On the animation front, Studio Pierrot adapted the first part of the manga into a 293-episode anime that aired from 2017 to 2023, blending manga canon with original television-exclusive arcs. While a sequel anime project dedicated to adapting Two Blue Vortex has been officially confirmed, an exact premiere date remains unannounced.
