During the Haikyu!! RECEPTION #3 stream on August 19, multiple exciting updates were revealed for Haikyu!! Day, highlighted by fresh details regarding HAIKYU!! the Movie: VS The Little Giant and the upcoming special anime HAIKYU!! Where Monsters Go. Both projects are officially scheduled to launch in 2027.
The special broadcast was hosted by Haikyu!! manga editor Ritsuki Azuma, with special appearances by Ayumu Murase (the voice of Shoyo Hinata) and Kaito Ishikawa (the voice of Tobio Kageyama).
The event kicked off with the announcement of Haikyu!! Character Remix: Bonds – Hinata and Kageyama, a two-volume manga compilation dedicated entirely to the dynamic duo. Pulling standout moments from all 402 chapters of the original series, these books spotlight the strong connection built between Hinata and Kageyama. Both volumes hit shelves in Japan on September 4, 2026.
Fans can also look forward to a brand-new partnership between the franchise and Japan’s SV.League. Franchise creator Haruichi Furudate has illustrated fresh artwork featuring Kotaro Bokuto, Korai Hoshiumi, and Kiyoomi Sakusa to help promote the upcoming season.
Additionally, a crossover illustration created by Black Clover author Yuki Tabata was unveiled. Tabata sketched Toru Oikawa for the fourth Haikyu!! Volleyball Card Game!! BREAK booster pack, subtitled “Talent and Sense.” This artwork will be featured as a special “Itadaki Art Vobaka” card. Pre-orders for the booster pack opened on August 19, ahead of its official release on October 24, 2026.
More updates emerged regarding the upcoming Haruichi Furudate Haikyu!! Exhibition: Challengers, including the debut of the third key visual titled “Approach (Tobio Kageyama).”
The exhibition will highlight the character arcs of Shoyo Hinata, Tobio Kageyama, and others by displaying original manga manuscripts alongside brand-new artwork from Furudate. It is set to take place at the Mori Arts Center Gallery in Tokyo from October 30, 2026, to January 11, 2027.
Exhibition merchandise will include posters featuring the new Kageyama visual and blankets adorned with playful “Mini-Q!!” illustrations. Furthermore, a themed collaboration cafe will open in Ginza during the event period, with further details expected soon.
The stream also pulled back the curtain on the third Gekidan Haikyu!! stage play, titled Winners and Losers. This production will shift its focus to the Interhigh preliminaries and introduce Date Tech High School. Organizers shared a main visual, cast details, and an announcement trailer.
The broadcast touched upon Haikyu!! TOUCH AND CONNECT, the series’ debut puzzle game released earlier in 2026, where players link “Puzzle Balls” featuring iconic characters.
Major anime announcements were saved for the end of the program. HAIKYU!! the Movie: VS The Little Giant revealed a fresh concept visual starring Shoyo Hinata and Korai Hoshiumi. The upcoming film will center around Karasuno’s clash with Kamomedai, framing the ultimate showdown between the two spikers connected to the legacy of the “Little Giant.”
Meanwhile, the special anime project HAIKYU!! Where Monsters Go dropped both a teaser visual and an action-packed trailer. The visual highlights Fukurodani ace Kotaro Bokuto and Mujinazaka ace Wakatsu Kiryu backed by their respective team banners.

To celebrate August 19 further, a special Weekly Shōnen Jump music video dropped ahead of the stream, pairing Furudate’s manga artwork with BURNOUT SYNDROMES’ “PHOENIX,” the iconic first opening theme of Haikyu!! TO THE TOP.
Haruichi Furudate’s Haikyu!! was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from 2012 to 2020. Production I.G has animated the television series and theatrical films alike. The anime’s debut season premiered in 2014, followed by a second season airing from fall 2015 through winter 2016. Season 3 ran for 10 episodes in fall 2016, covering the intense Karasuno vs. Shiratorizawa match, while Season 4, Haikyuu!! To the Top, spanned 25 episodes across two cours in 2020. Beyond the TV series and films, the expansive franchise includes recap movies, OVAs, side stories, stage productions, and video games.
