Bandai Namco Filmworks has dropped a brand-new teaser trailer for Fool Night, confirming an international Netflix debut scheduled for November 26, 2026.
Based on Kasumi Yasuda’s celebrated manga—originally serialized in Shogakukan’s Big Comic Spirits—the plot unfolds in a dark, sun-starved era where dwindling oxygen supplies lead society to adopt “transfloration.” In this desperate system, citizens facing terminal illnesses can choose to undergo a procedure that transforms them into living, oxygen-emitting plants to financially support their families.
Directed by Hiroshi Yasuko and co-produced by renowned studios Sunrise and Shaft, the series centers on Kamiya Toshiro (voiced by Kouki Uchiyama). A struggling young man who opts for transfloration, Toshiro soon becomes entangled in a web of botanical murder mysteries.
The one-minute preview delivers an unsettling, moody glimpse into the series’ unique blend of body horror and noir aesthetics. In addition to showcasing Uchiyama in the lead role, the trailer introduces several newly announced voice cast members, featuring Fairouz Ai as Yomiko Yomogi, Yuka Nukui as Ayaka Akira, Ayane Sakura as Ayasuko Amano, and Kiyomitsu Mizuuchi as Jin Hiratoko.
