Following a brief teaser during the major summer Nintendo Direct showcase, eager fans finally have a deeper look at *Kingdom Hearts 4*. Revealed during the Disney Entertainment Showcase, the brand-new D23 2026 trailer not only highlights fresh gameplay, but also unveils an official release window alongside a surprise Disney+ series announcement.
As part of a collaboration between Square Enix, Disney, and Pixar, Sora’s upcoming journey will venture directly into the vibrant world of *Coco*, perfectly timed ahead of the film sequel’s theatrical debut this November:
A brand-new adventure awaits as the world of Disney and Pixar’s Coco joins KINGDOM HEARTS IV.
Alongside the trailer comes the confirmation that *Kingdom Hearts 4* is scheduled to launch in late 2027. The game is slated for release on the Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via both Steam and the Epic Games Store. Additionally, Disney announced a forthcoming *Kingdom Hearts* anime series for Disney+, designed to expand the franchise’s expansive lore while celebrating the iconic characters beloved by millions worldwide.
As the latest entry in Square Enix’s acclaimed action RPG series, Kingdom Hearts 4 showcases some of the faces protagonist Sora will encounter within the enigmatic cityscape of Quadratum. Sora is set to traverse unfamiliar realms once again, where new allies will cross his path and fresh abilities will unlock the next chapter of his journey. Kingdom Hearts 4 will be available on the Nintendo Switch 2 right out of the gate.
