Magical Girl Raising Project restart Anime Debuts on October 5 – News

The official website for the upcoming Magical Girl Raising Project Restart television anime has announced that the series will premiere on October 5. The show is scheduled to air on TV Tokyo during the late-night slot at 2:00 a.m. on October 5 (effectively early morning on October 6), followed by subsequent broadcasts on AT-X and BS Fuji starting October 7.

Several key staff members from the original 2016 Magical Girl Raising Project anime are returning for this new adaptation. Hiroyuki Hashimoto is back in the director’s chair, accompanied by scriptwriter Takao Yoshioka and sound director Satoki Iida. Masako Itou, who previously handled SD character designs, is now crafting the character designs for the new series based on Maruino’s original concepts. However, a change has been made at the production level: animation studio Synergy SP has taken over production duties, replacing Lerche, which animated the first season.

On the musical front, Minori Chihara is providing the opening theme song, titled "No tears here," while Daisy×Daisy performs the ending theme, "ReMind."

The franchise originates from Asari Endō’s Mahō Shōjo Ikusei Keikaku light novel series, which takes place in a world where a popular social game grants a tiny fraction of players the status of a "magical girl," endowing them with extraordinary beauty, physical prowess, and unique magical abilities. The narrative of the original story kicked off when administrators arbitrarily decided to cut the population of 16 magical girls in half to conserve magical energy, turning a seemingly harmless competition for "magical candy" into a brutal, life-or-death battle for survival.

The first 12-episode anime adaptation originally aired in Japan in October 2016 and was streamed internationally by Crunchyroll as it broadcasted.
