Known for a more deliberate and thoughtful approach to its animated catalog, the platform recently reminded fans of its exceptionally strong lineup by dropping a wave of new trailers and first-look images for its upcoming projects.
Even after giving fans a sneak peek at what lies ahead during the Annecy International Animation Film Festival in June, Netflix has brought an impressive roster of new and returning series to Anime NYC that are guaranteed to dominate watchlists everywhere. To break down all the major reveals—including brief synopses, production studios, voice casts, and release dates—here is the complete rundown in alphabetical order.
Bass X Machina
Brought to life by Studio Mir (The Legend of Korra/Devil May Cry), Bass X Machina is a steampunk western following a devoted father as he fights off outlaws, deadly machines, and supernatural anomalies to safeguard his family. The voice cast features Brian Tyree Henry (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse), artist and actor Janelle Monáe, Tati Gabrielle (Mortal Kombat II), and veteran voice talent Cree Summer. The series officially premieres on November 3.
Blue Eye Samurai Season Two
Produced by Blue Spirit, the second season of Blue Eye Samurai finds the wandering warrior Mizu (Maya Erskine) pressing onward with her quest for vengeance as she tracks her father all the way to London. Back in Japan, her former companion Ringo (Masi Oka) looks for a fresh start, while Akemi (Brenda Song) and Taigen (Darren Barnet) must navigate the treacherous political landscape of Edo Castle under the rule of an intimidating new shogun. Created by writers and showrunners Amber Noizumi and Michael Green, the hit series returns in January 2027.
Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2
Following the massive success of the award-winning 2023 series, Studio Trigger and CD Projekt RED are teaming up once again for Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2. This 10-episode standalone story introduces a brand-new crew in Night City, exploring the gritty, neon-soaked universe of Cyberpunk 2077. Drawing heavy aesthetic and narrative inspiration from classic crime cinema like City of God, the neo-noir project dives deep into how far its characters are willing to push themselves just to leave a mark.
The voice cast features Clancy Brown (recognized globally as Mr. Krabs in SpongeBob SquarePants) as the veteran edgerunner Weak Kingsley; Nazeeh Tarsha (known for voicing Kafka Hibino in Kaiju No. 8) as the netrunner D; Kimoy Lee (Syrup in Witch Watch) as Talia, a heavily augmented Corpo mixing with the Maelstrom gang; and Valeria Rodriguez (Venture in Overwatch) as Roman Carax, an aspiring filmmaker using a camcorder to document the harsh realities of Night City. The series debuts on October 20.
Fool Night
Co-produced by Sunrise (Mobile Suit Gundam/Cowboy Bebop) and Shaft (Puella Magi Madoka Magica), Fool Night is a dystopian sci-fi adaptation of Kasumi Yasuda’s ongoing manga. Set in a world plunged into perpetual darkness after a global ecological collapse, humanity struggles against a century of severe oxygen depletion caused by dying plant life. The only solution is “transfloration,” a radical procedure that turns human volunteers into plants for the collective good. When a man named Toshiro Kamiya undergoes the process to pay for his ailing mother’s medical expenses, he and his close friend Yomiko Horai—who works at a transfloration facility—find themselves tangled in a dangerous web of serial murders and government conspiracies.
The main voice cast features Kōki Uchiyama (Tomura Shigaraki in My Hero Academia) as Toshiro, alongside Minako Kotobuki (Tsumugi Kotobuki in K-ON!) as Yomiko. Fool Night premieres on November 26.
Lego One Piece
Following the successful voyage of the live-action One Piece adaptation’s second season, this two-part animated LEGO special retells the story so far through the perspective of the Straw Hat pirates’ resident sniper (and notoriously unreliable narrator), Usopp. The special brings back the live-action cast to voice their blocky counterparts, including Iñaki Godoy as Luffy, Emily Rudd as Nami, Mackenyu as Zoro, Jacob Romero Gibson as Usopp, Taz Skylar as Sanji, Charithra Chandran as Nefertari Vivi, Mikaela Hoover as Tony Tony Chopper, and Jeff Ward as Buggy. Lego One Piece drops on September 29.
Sakamoto Days Season Two
Studio TMS returns for a second season of chaotic shonen action in Sakamoto Days. The story centers on Taro Sakamoto (voiced by Matthew Mercer in English and Tomokazu Sugita in Japanese), a legendary former hitman who retired from the underworld to live a peaceful life as a devoted family man. However, his tranquil existence is shattered when an old rival targets his family, forcing him back into action. The result is a high-octane adventure that brilliantly blends the relentless pacing of John Wick with the dynamic martial arts choreography of Jackie Chan, all wrapped up in a delightfully chaotic tone as Sakamoto and his allies confront an increasingly bizarre lineup of assassins. Sakamoto Days Season 2 arrives in January 2027.
The One Piece
Rounding out the showcase is a fresh look at the key visual for WIT Studio’s upcoming anime remake of Eiichiro Oda’s legendary shonen epic, The One Piece. As previously announced, the reimagined series will consist of seven episodes, each running approximately 42 minutes, and all will be released simultaneously on the platform. With the original manga spanning well over 1,000 chapters, this initial adaptation will cover the first 50 chapters of the East Blue Saga, concluding right around the moment Luffy and his crew cross paths with Sanji. The One Piece sets sail in February 2027.
